NI Trampoline Zonal Finals
Congratulations to the sixteen boys who represented Holywood PS at the annual Ashfield tournament. By having two teams participating in the Ashfield Tournament, this enabled a number of the P7 and many of our P6 pupils to have the opportunity to represent the school for the first time.`
The B Team equipped themselves very well against tough opposition but despite their best efforts and a great goal by Kyle they were unable to secure a place in the knockout stages.
The A Team kicked off the tournament positively with their first competitive win of the season. Throughout the competition the boys played some great football but unfortunately did not manage to convert their chances and suffered two 1-0 losses after having the majority of the possession. The A team finished the group stage with 4 points and narrowly missed out on progressing to the knockout stages by 1 point. Despite the miserable weather the boys had a great morning of competitive football. Special thanks to David Kennedy for his joint managerial role and for all the parent helpers who provided transport and even stayed to support HPS! :)
SQUAD:
P7: Ruan (C), Benjamin, Joshua P, Oliver, Ben, Luke, Jamie, Harrison and George.
P6: Cameron, Thomas W, Zak, Matthew, Joshua, Oscar and Kyle.

DAY 1 @ Queen’s Hall, Holywood
We all love winning the PTA Wish List !
Well done to three of our pupils, Finn, Kieran and Jay. Finn and Kieran passed their Grade 1 Clarinet exams and Jay passed his Grade 1 saxophone exam with distinction.
They were presented with their certificates at a special end of term Assembly.
Thanks to Mrs Briggs and Miss Riddell for helping the boys prepare so well.
How many more sleeps until Christmas?!
Well done to a number of pupils who have shown acts of kindness which were noted by various members of staff and visitors to the school.
Damaris (P7) & Deborah Agnes (P3)
Both girls offered to help clean up a spillage in the Dining Hall without being asked.
Super sister team work!
Millar P3
Well done to Millar for being so honest. Millar found money and handed it in to a teacher.
Good boy!
James P6
Each week in Art Club, James is an enthusiastic and inspiring member. Thanks James!
Bryn P7
Bryn for being patient and always giving a helping hand to other pupils, including them in activities in the classroom and outside in the playground.
Adam P6
Adam was so helpful. He took time to check that all the computers were ‘shut down’ after ICT Club without being asked.
Bronagh P4
Thank you Bronagh for pushing in all the chairs for Miss Armstrong. What a great helper!
Thomas P5
Thomas was extremely helpful when Mrs Heawood hurt herself. Mrs Heawood really appreciated what he did for her.
Matthew P6
Matthew is a very mannerly boy. This was noted at our recent Carol Service and also commented on by visitors who attended our Open Day and the P1-P3 Christmas mornings. Well done Matthew!
The boys & girls were amazing!
HPS well represented at Cross Country run!
Holywood’s football season got underway this afternoon as the new league format kicked off at Eddie Irvine Sports Complex in Bangor.
The league consists of 16 teams competing from across the Ards and North Down area and matches take place once a month where each school plays a total of 3 games.
Holywood’s opponents for todays fixtures were Towerview P.S, Crawfordsburn P.S and Clandeboye P.S. Holywood had a lot of boys competing and representing the school for the first time and their enthusiasm showed from the first whistle. The boys worked hard as a team and put together some brilliant passages of play over their 3 games that led to some fantastic goals by Ben (3), Ruan. Zak and Luke. For all their hard work, Holywood unfortunately were edged in all 3 of their games but their attitude and application were excellent and they did themselves and their school proud.
A great day of football overall with plenty to build on for the future games to come!
SQUAD: Cameron, Benjamin, Joshua P, Matthew, Ruan, Luke, Oliver, Zak and Ben (C).
P6 & P7 pupils all smiles!
