I enjoys sports and outside of school I play hockey and tennis. I have also represented school in athletics. I also enjoy music. Blue House Captain

James

Hi I’m James. I’m the new Blue House Captain. When I first heard that I was chosen I was surprised but also very pleased. As House Captain I hope to make some positive contributions to school life and make it a better place. I want to try and help with anything I am asked to and help make everyone as happy as I can. My favourite thing to do is play sport. My favourite sports are golf, football and rugby. I really enjoyed representing the school when we won the Ashfield cup for football. I am also looking forward to our rugby tournament in Strandtown. When I am older I would like to be a professional golfer and play on the PGA tour or a professional footballer and play for Manchester United or a professional rugby player for Ireland. I really admire Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods because they have had successful golf careers.

Blue Sports Captain

Hi, my name is Hollie and I am 10 years old and I live in Belfast.

When I was told I was a Holywood Primary school Sports captain I was absolutely thrilled and lots of my other friends got positions as well such as House captain, Sports captain and team captain for lots of different sports.

I am a very sporty person in my opinion and my favourite sport is to play is netball but I also enjoy playing hockey and football and I also do Irish dance and compete in festivals outside of school.

I really wanted this position because in all my years in Holywood Primary school I have not been a member of the School Council or ECO Committee. I have represented my school in the school choir.

I admire woman’s football teams because when I was younger and even now, I have never been that good at football and so I have always wondered how woman football players make it look so easy to glide the ball up and down the pitch.

It is a privilege to have this role and I will try my hardest.

Blue Sports Captain

My name is Rudy and I am in P7 Room 10.  When I found out that I have been chosen to be Blue House (Ballymenoch) Sports Captain i was very happy and excited!  My favourite sports are football, rugby and cricket and I play for Holywood Football Club, Holywood Rugby Club, Holywood Cricket Club and of course Holywood Primary too.  I have represented the school in football and cricket as well as running at North Down Athletics.  In the future I would love to have a career in sports, although I’m not sure exactly what just yet!  My favourite football player is Ronaldo and ever since I was young I have supported Manchester United, perhaps because I was born in Manchester!  I think they are one of the best football clubs of all time.

Green House Captain

Peter

When I was called up for Green House Captain, I felt so surprised, but also really pleased. It means a lot to have been selected and I hope that I do a good job.

I love lots of different sports, but my main sports are rugby and football. I have played mini rugby with Holywood Rugby Club on Saturday mornings since Primary 1 and I also play football for Holywood FC. It’ll soon be time for cricket to start again for the summer which is always good fun. I have enjoyed getting out of school for football and rugby tournaments with HPS; not forgetting the Primary School Cross Country League, but it is pretty tough going!

I really admire Andrew Trimble. He seems funny and it’s inspiring to see someone so local having played their sport at an international level whilst always staying true to who they are.

It would be amazing if we had a Glen Lyon House victory in 2024. Come on you Greens!!
