Victorian Christmas in P7

P7 have had great fun finding out about Victorian Christmas and learning how many of our Christmas traditions started or developed during the Victorian era including the Christmas tree and crackers! This week we have been making a gift box which we then decorated using decoupage, and making our own Christmas crackers which are sure to go off with a bang!

Kindness Counts Week

Some members of the School Council presented the NI Children’s Hospice with a cheque for the money generously raised by HPS.

P7 Treat Day!

After working so hard over the last number of months, the P7s had a well earned treat day. They had a great day out at the Strand Cinema where they watched Home Alone 2. Followed by some delicious pizza from Holywood Pizza Company. Thanks to the PTA for this special treat. Everyone had a great time!

Eco Club Make Bird Feeders

As the cold weather draws in the boys and girls in Eco Club are concerned about the food supply for some of our local birds. Using pinecones, string, lard and seeds they had great fun making bird feeders and hanging them in our school grounds.

We are learning about People Who Help Us. On our walk into Holywood we visited the Fire Station, Police Station and Post Office. We posted letters to some special people.

P7 Iron Men

P7 have been reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. They had to build an Iron Man out of recycable/old materials. All the Iron Men look amazing. Well done P7!

P4 Outdoor Learning

P4 have enjoyed lots of opportunities for Outdoor Learning this term. Today we consolidated telling the time one hour earlier and one hour later by creating our own clocks in the playground. Here are some photos. Outdoor learning is our current major topic as an Eco School.

P1 Room 3 had great fun celebrating Gerald's birthday!

We had so much fun making buns and hats for Gerald’s birthday. We had great fun playing games and eating our buns. We even gave Mrs Crookshanks a bun and she was very pleased.
