Holywood PS had a wonderful day down at the annual Ashfield Football Tournament. 18 boys across P6 and P7 took part in a fun filled competitive day of football!
Holywood A’s were in Group D alongside teams from Harding M, Victoria Pk A, Euston St, Gilnahirk, Lisnasharragh and Dundonald B . The A team played some brilliant football in the group stages but unfortunately were unable to take their opportunities and hit the back of the net. They finished the group stages having drew 5 games and narrowly losing just one. In a very tight group they just missed out on progressing to the knockout stages by 1pt.
A Team: Joshua, Daniel, Riley, Mason, Sam, Luca, Sam, Harry and Tom L
Holywood B’s were in Group A alongside teams from Elmgrove A , Nettlefield B, Strandtown A, Braniel A, Knockbreda and Ashfield A. The B team found themselves in a very tough group and performed heroically and managed a win but were unfortunately unable to qualify for the knockout stages after some hard fought matches and brilliant teamwork.
B Team: Tom S, Alfie, Theo, Tom R, George, Jake, Zach, Henry and Fletcher

A huge thanks again to all the parent helpers for lifts and cheering the school on! A special mention to Mr McConnell and Mr Coppinger-Keys for helping with the teams and taking on a managerial role!
