Mrs Crookshanks and members of the ECO Committee were pleased to attend the Ards & North Down Eco Schools Awards ceremony in the presence of The Mayor, Ards and North Down Councillors and members of the team from Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful.
There were very proud to be presented with the 7th Green Flag on behalf of the school.
The ECO Committee who, along with staff and all P1-P7 classes have worked very hard over the last two years to heighten the awareness of environmental issues. The focus for the school has been:
HEALTHY LIVING, OUTDOOR LEARNING & GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE.
Special thanks to Mrs McKeown who co-ordinated the wide range of initiatives the school has been involved in even during the periods of Home Learning! The assessors scrutinised all ECO evidence collated since 2020. ! Below is an extract from our report by the assessing panel.
‘Fantastic work with your local council. Really great action plan with lots of excellent ideas that were carried out over the two years. It was great to see that you had reviewed and evaluated the success of all the activities as well. Great whole school involvement in eco-schools through a number of different activities which have clearly been a wonderful addition for the pupils.’
